Budget for two payments.

Separate buying the goods from forwarding them internationally, then account for any charges collected at the destination.

Fee breakdown: the buying payment

Record the item subtotal, domestic freight to the warehouse, buying-service charges and payment or conversion costs shown at checkout. Keep the receipt and currency for each amount. Do not count a charge twice if it is already in the total.

The parcel payment

Use the packed quote for international freight, chosen packing, optional inspection or insurance, and handling charges. Compare the first-weight or minimum charge, additional weight and any surcharges. Splitting a haul can repeat a minimum charge.

Keep unknown costs separate until you have an answer. A product subtotal alone is not a delivered budget.

Currency, exchange rates and payment fees

Compare the amount debited by your payment provider with the amount credited in CNY. Add any separately billed payment fee. Repeat the check for the later shipping payment rather than reusing the earlier exchange rate.

Declarations and destination charges

Check the description, quantity and value against the actual contents before submission. An automatically filled declaration still needs review. Use your destination customs authority for current tax and import requirements; this guide does not provide country thresholds.

If documents are requested, keep the purchase receipts and parcel information available and follow the carrier or authority’s instructions.

Read insurance and claim terms before paying

Check what event is covered, which items are excluded and what evidence and deadline apply. Ask separately about forwarded goods and fragile-item damage. The name of an add-on does not tell you everything it covers.

Prepare for tracking and receipt.
